Now that's how I like to count! Only our version is 11, 12, 13, 15!
Stop rubbing your eyes. I know I wrote 15! That's because I am now 15 weeks along! I Walked into the doctor's office today at 13 week and walked out at 15. How's that for time flying?! I guess I just didn't realize how much fun I was having ;)
So, today's visit was supposed to be the First Trimester Screening. But after a few measurements, and measurements to check the measurements, the doctor said I was too far along for the test! Can't say I complained!
So here he the much older Baby G!
Lookin right at us!So here is your 13-15 week update!

- Good bye citrus, we now prefer apples! Size in inches makes 4 our lucky number Weight is about 2 1/2 ounces
- This week we can move all our joints, and boy oh boy does this baby know how to use them! The doctor was having a hard time getting the shots he wanted because it's a wiggly one! Definitely Dan's child!!! I asked if there was in-utero treatment for ADD. ;)
- A few other changes: taste buds are forming, eyes are still shut but it can/will respond to light, legs are longer than the arms and amniotic fluid is moving through the nose, lungs etc. helping all that good stuff get going. Hooray for breathing!
MAMA STATS
- Since I am officially out of the first trimester, I should star feeling better. Key word is should. I attempted to not take the meds today, but about 10 minutes ago broke down and popped a pill :/ It just makes life so much better it's hard not to take them!
Dear crack addicts, I totally understand. Love, Nicole
- I haven't puked in a long time and am starting to feel like I remember normal again, so I'm getting there!
- Today's ultrasound was awesome! Since the test was a bust, Dr. Bob had a hay day showing me the baby. I'm so lucky he was able to do this, although I think he just liked my reactions to things and silly questions! I was able to hear the heartbeat, count fingers and toes, see all the individual bones and the spine, see eyes, nose, mouth and chin, see arms and legs stretch out and so much more! I basically got an 18/20 week ultrasound at 15 weeks!
- I have gained a little weight back. Ugh. I hate that they never let me take off my boots and they don't subtract a pound for jeans. I going to start going to these appointments barefoot and in a bathing suit! But I'm still not back to my pre pregnancy weight (due to the weight loss) so I guess I can't complain!
DADDY STATS
- Dan missed the ultrasound today! :( We honestly thought it was just a quick test and didn't realize what was going to happen so he decided to sleep since he was working on almost 2 days without any.
- He still swears it's a boy with everything he's got. This leads me to believe it's a girl.
- Since I'm 15 weeks, and the 3D places can tell you the sex at 16, you can bet what he's all excited about! I will be making a phone call today and hopefully he will calm down.
Overall, this appointment got us both pretty pumped up! Although I was surprised again when I saw the baby (I didn't curse this time thought!) It didn't seem quite as crazy. And, the shock wasn't quite there. Baby steps.

Here is the 12 week update to get you caught up!
From now on the baby updates will happen here! I've been emailing, texting and trying to keep everyone in the loop and to be honest, it's annoying. So, from now on I will post at least weekly and when fun things happen and you can check here!
The plus side is, I plan on just printing this blog...and there you have it! A baby book! Now that's what I call multi-tasking.
Such a lucky kid.

This week we hit 12 weeks! So close to that 2nd trimester I can feel it, well, kind of!
BABY STATSLovely things are happening...
- The intestines are moving from the umbilical cord into the baby's body where they belong.
- Eyes have moved into position making this little bugger look like a human.
And some things that are not as creepy...
- Reflexes have taken over! Bambino is clenching, curling and sucking.
- He/She is also moving quite a bit but because the brain is not 'organized' it's moves willy nilly with no real rhyme or reason. It says if I push on my stomach it makes the baby move. Seems mean so I don't partake. Kind of like tapping on fish tank, just not right.
- Size wise we're still lime status. We love citrus. When it come to the ruler...we have slightly surpassed the 2 inch mark
- Baby got a Christmas stocking! Guess this means I've come to terms with this since I bought it something! ;) It did help that the stockings that match all of ours were on sale! And, yes, I bought an extra one! Mom, this does NOT mean I plan on having another child. The price was good and the bunny doesn't have a stocking. Plus, I'm sure there's another animal in my future. Sorry to disappoint folks!
MAMA STATS
- I feeling much better! With the help on consistent meds, I've pretty much regained some control of my life. I still get tired and have moments where I don't feel great. But, I can work and I don't puke so I'm thrilled!
- As far as eating goes, I'm getting there. I pretty much snack on something all day long, especially when I leave the house. This mostly comes from fear of a public pass out again, and also because I feel better with a little grub in the gut.
- I'm not really showing yet. I feel chubbier, but considering my weight loss at the last appointment I doubt I actually am. At night I puff up and look about 6 months pregnant. But the lovely bodily functions take all that away by morning! ;)
- I have another appointment next week to test for Down Syndrome and several other genetic 'situations' I'm not worried about it. I just figured we should do it so we can not be surprised when it's born, and because it's another ultrasound that the insurance pays for. I'm going to take them for all their worth! No one is kicking me out of the hospital! You can sleep there and someone cooks and cleans for you! ;)
- The new year, brings a goal of getting the house organized...my over-sized closet room now belongs to someone else. I'm sad, but I guess my clothes don't really need their own room. I also plan on some new training for the dogs. I don't want their entire lives changes because of this little surprise. They, after all, are my babies. So, we'll be working on walking with a stroller, not barking at every car door slamming or door bell (even the ones on TV) and staying. Jake really takes his job seriously of not letting me out of his sight. Ever. While I appreciate his perseverance, I trip and sometimes fall and that just can't happen when I'm huge or carrying a babe. This all seems much harder now that I type it out...oh boy.
DAD STATS
- Dan is doing fine, he doesn't have to be sick and get fat! ha ha!
- So far only the weather and work have affected his golf game. I am not to blame!! ;)
- He currently enjoys naming the baby ridiculous things. Don't believe me? Suggest a name and watch him twist it onto some celebrity, stripper, or rhyming moniker.
- Example:
Nicole: "I like the name Parker for a girl!" Dan: "Oh and her middle name can be Posey!"
At this rate we're looking at Dan for a boy and Nicole for a girl!! ;) ;)
Merry Christmas Family!
Enjoy the peace and quite this year because next year we'll be bringing a noise maker!!
