Aunties and Uncles

Last week was an Auntie and Uncle celebration! Our Little Girl (LG) is going to have lots of aunties and uncles, BUT, these are the REAL ones! We decided to let them know how much we love them by making them dinner. We asked them to each bring their favorite childhood memory they would like to pass along to LG. I gave some suggestions like stories, tricks, favorite books and toys. Little did I know it was going to be like her birthday party! LG got some really special gifts from her Aunties and Uncles!

The Group!
Uncle Jerry, Uncle Nathan, Auntie Lindsay, The Mom,
The Dad, Auntie Olivia, Uncle Eli and Uncle Ben!

Uncle Jer brought LG a book that was one of his favorites. It's the alphabet and animals all in one! This was his ACTUAL book when he was growing up which makes it that much more special. I know we are going to love reading this to her!

Uncle E loved his blanket that had buttons on it when he was a boy. So he MADE LG her own blanket and sewed on a whole corner of buttons. He also made her a button frame that matches her room. She's going to be so cozy in the blanket, I think it will be one of her favorites!

Uncle Nafan (that's how the kids say it!) and Auntie Lou started LG a scrap book. But, it's not just a normal scrapbook. It's going to be filled with all the fun things she does with her Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts and Uncles. Lindsay and Nathan are going to update it for her! They also got her a Macdonald Family staple...The Cherrio holder! You cannot leave the house without that thing full of cherrios!

Cake anyone???!!! Of course Auntie O got her an Easy Bake oven! This is so exciting because it was one of my favorites too! In fact I'm so excited I fully plan on using it before she is here! ;) I think LG is going to learn a lot about cooking and baking from her Auntie O. Which is great because Lord knows she won't be learning it from her mom! Olivia also bedazzled her a few pacifiers, this way she's quiet and stylish! Just the way we like her!

This is another exciting gift...A Lite Brite! Now it's a flat screen, so fancy! We used to love this when we were kids. I think Uncle Ben will have to come over and teach her how to pick up all the pieces though! Dan was so excited about this, he has plans for his own design. Yep, you guessed, it, Cartman. Uncle Ben thought it was a great idea.

OUTTAKES... We never can behave!
Here are a few fun pictures from our evening of Aunties and Uncles!

Two Weeks Forward And One Week Back

Your eyes do not deceive you. You read the title correctly. They have changed my due date again. This time I told the doctor to pick something and stick with it. I don't care if it's next December, just stop talking about it! So now I guess it's June 29th. I've never ever heard of this happening to anyone! But of course, it would happen to me! I still think she'll come closer to June 23rd. Three out of Five ultrasounds have given that date so the odds seem good. At any rate, we'll just try to be logistically ready by May and she'll come when she comes! Mentally ready is probably never going to happen ;)

Since I have had every ultrasound possible in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy, we're done. I'm sad there is no more coming, I was getting so used to seeing her every few weeks! There's most likely going to be another 3D visit in our future, I'm just too impatient to wait 20 more weeks to see her!

Unfortunately, this also means I have no more baby pictures to share. So this post begins my sharing of everything else...This week... GIFTS! I love all the sweet gifts I have received since we found out about this bambino. I have the best friends and family who definitely have every intention of spoiling this Little Girl! Here are just a few fun gifts...

Her first Disneyland toy!! Thanks to the Nance family she's all ready on her way to loving Disneyland which is a requirement to maintain your residency in this house.

I LOVE books! We have received so many great books and I cannot wait to read them to her. I have some awesome memories that revolve around reading. Next time you see my Dad, ask him "Big A, small a, what begins with A?" His response will not only be correct, but he can continue to recite the entire Dr. Suess ABC's perfectly. I can't wait to memorize Little Girls Favorite book! This one is from Auntie Lou and Uncle Nate...they definitely know how to choose a book!

The clothes....oh my goodness! This has to be one of the best things about having a girl! At least for me!!! Little Girl bought this 'I Love My Daddy' shirt for her dad. He loved it! ;) The Supermodel shirt comes from Courtney and Scott. They sure know how to shop! You should know it also came with a matching tutu...waiting to dress her in that outfit is killing me!!

It's no secret, Dan is a Braves fan. So naturally Little Girl must become one too! Annie and Kate who are die hard Giants fans, were able to set their feelings aside and join with Dan in making sure Little Girl is ready to go to her first game! Watching Dan open this gift has been one of the best moments to date. He was so excited I can't even repeat the words that he was yelling! Bottom line, he's officially excited for this Little Braves Fan to make her debut!

LITTLE GIRL STATS
These stats are for 21 weeks which follows her June 29th due date.
  • She's about 11 inches long. This may seem like a big jump, once you hit the half way mark they measure head to toe vs head to butt.
  • Weight wise we're looking at 15 ounces. So close to a pound! Length and weight are similar to a football for those who like a visual!
  • Eyebrows and eyelids are fully developed, although she cannot open her eyes just yet.
  • She's still a mover! But, I must say, she calms down quite nicely at night. I pray every day that she continues this nighttime routine of sleeping when I sleep. So far she hasn't woken me up yet! Fingers crossed!
  • Her cartilage skeleton has hardened into bone. We've got a strong girl!
  • Still no name. We just keep a nice long list and we'll figure it out before she comes home from the hospital!
MAMA STATS
  • I have officially gained weight! I'm 2 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. Kind of freaky to see your weight climb, but as long as it's kind of slow I think I'll survive!
  • Still on the meds. Just tried to skip another (I don't know why I torture myself when the doctor has said to keep taking them) but it was unsuccessful. The 5AM pukes came as always. I'm so thankful those pills kick in quickly! or at least my head thinks they do!
  • I've been walking regularly. The rain has slowed me down, but I was walking a few miles a day. Once the skies clear I need to get back out there!
DADDY STATS
  • Dan has slowed down on the golf everyday pattern due to rain. Not to me I'd like to point out! ;)
  • He's booked us a trip to Monterey! Baby or not, we'd be going. But, with a baby coming this trip has become that much more important. He's going to golf, I'm going to spa and we're both going to eat, shop and relax!
  • Dan is also working on a few other trips before the baby. Both revolve around baseball and should be lots of fun!

Bedding Sneak Peek

I know I'm WAY behind on my updates...I'll be sure to get caught up this weekend. In the meantime, enjoy a Little Girl bedding sneak peek! Yes, I know, there's PINK on there! It's hard to avoid but it's actually the only pink that will be in the room. The rest will be this light brown with a chocolate brown. It's looking cute!

Fat Girl In A Purple Shirt

Well, here it is. The long awaited belly picture. I know, my eyes are closed. But I could not post a belly picture so you'll just have to live with this! This is not extremely accurate since it's the evening and after dinner. And, by dinner I mean about 10 dumplings with gravy and mashed potatoes. YUM! No lie, 10. It's a new record.

Laugh In

The room was full of pregnant women with their partners. The class was in full swing.
The instructor was teaching the women how to breathe and was telling the men how to give the necessary help and assurance to their partners at this stage of their pregnancy.

She said, "Ladies, remember that exercise is good for you. Walking is especially beneficial. It strengthens the pelvic muscles and will make delivery that much easier. Just pace yourself, make plenty of stops and try to stay on a soft surface like grass or a path."

She looked at the men in the room, "Gentlemen, remember -- you're in this together. It wouldn't hurt you to go walking with her
. In fact, that shared experience would be good for you both.”

The room suddenly got very quiet as the men absorbed this information.

After a few moments, a man at the back of the room slowly raised his hand.

"Yes," said the Instructor.

"I was just wondering if it would be all right if she carries a golf bag while we walk?

Apparently Dan attended a pregnancy class without me! ;)
Thanks for the joke Aunt Nikki!
